Congratulations to Sherri Drouillard, Infant Room Teacher, at Hildebrandt’s Park City Child Care Center for being a recipient of the 2008 Terri Lynne Lokoff / Children’s TYLENOL® National Child Care Teacher Award.

Congratulations to Hildebrandt's own Erica Richards, who was selected Scholastic Teacher of the Year!

In October of 1991, Hildebrandt Learning Centers launched into an exciting new concept to meeting the needs of our workforce and community with the opening of Lancaster Generations Adult Day Center.

Lancaster Generations, located on the campus of Lancaster Laboratories in Lancaster, PA, is designed to meet the daytime needs of impaired geriatric adults in a warm, home-like environment. The unique aspect of Lancaster Generations is that it is directly attached to a Hildebrandt Learning Centers' child care center. By having the child and adult centers share the same building, young children and geriatric adults can interact on a regular basis.

This arrangement is a "win-win" scenario for both the children and the adults. The children develop a positive understanding of aging and a respect for the many experiences that seniors can share with them, and elderly people, who often feel isolated from the larger community, regain a sense of involvement as they interact with the children.

Lancaster Laboratories, where these distinctive centers are located, was a special mention recipient of the 1997 Ron Brown Award for Corporate Leadership by the then President, Bill Clinton. The Ron Brown Award for Corporate Leadership, presented annually by the President of the United States, recognizes extraordinary programs that improve the well being of employees and enhance communities where employees live and work.

The Keystone Stars Initiative is a new state program administered by the PA Department of Public Welfare that recognizes quality in child care centers. This voluntary program allows centers to earn between one and four stars based on performance in three areas that include staff education, learning environment, and administration.

Statewide, approximately 947 centers were awarded Star One designations and 168 were awarded Star Four designations.

Twenty of the 29 Hildebrandt Learning Centers were awarded Four Keystone Stars, the state's highest designation.
